Northbanks developed a modular fixture and display system for Skinnydip that could carry the brand’s bold visual identity across boutiques, concessions, pop-ups and wholesale locations. The platform has supported more than 500 retail doors worldwide.
Rapid retail growth can quickly create inconsistency. Skinnydip needed a physical system that would remain recognisably theirs across different store sizes, retail partners and markets, while still being simple to order, ship, install, repair and refresh.
The fixtures also needed to withstand high-traffic environments and frequent merchandising changes without becoming overly complex or expensive to maintain.

Rather than designing each location independently, we created a repeatable design language. Radii, edge profiles, colour blocking, hardware and signage positions were standardised so every component felt part of one family.
Rollout thinking was built into the design from the start. Replaceable parts, repeatable fixings, simplified assembly and serviceable finishes allowed the system to scale without sacrificing the brand’s visual character.
Breed Universe combines strong header branding, structured graphic panels, shelf-edge communication and breed-led navigation into one permanent modular system.
The modular family includes gondolas, nesting tables, perimeter bays, hanging rails, feature lightboxes and graphic headers. Standard bay widths and shelf pitches support clear merchandising logic, while different accessories allow the system to flex around product density and category.
Materials were selected for durability and repairability, including powder-coated steel frames, laminate or lacquered MDF and acrylic brand elements. Replaceable tops and headers allow individual parts to be refreshed rather than whole units being discarded.

Northbanks coordinated manufacture, quality control, store-specific kitting and distribution. Fixtures were prepared around individual footprints and product mixes, with clear installation information and export packing supporting UK and international deployment.

The platform gave Skinnydip a consistent physical identity across more than 500 retail doors while remaining flexible enough for different formats and seasonal change. The same system could be reused and adapted for new markets, helping the brand scale without constantly reinventing its retail environment.
WHY IT MATTERS
Fast-growing brands need more than attractive fixtures. They need a retail system that can expand with them. Skinnydip shows how design, engineering and rollout planning can work together to protect brand identity while making growth easier to manage.
